Cynthia Brush

Born in Chicago IL, raised in Pakistan & India (ages 2-13), Connecticut and California (SF Bay Area), Cynthia had circled the globe (via passenger liner) before her 14th birthday. She brings an appreciation of cultural diversity and eclectic aesthetics to our mix.

In her artistic family, Cynthia drew and experimented with color from an early age. She designed clothing with her sister; admired her Mom's talent in handcrafts & collage, discovering her talent for composition & fine details; learned photography and an appreciation of hand-lettering from her Dad. She also developed a profound love of cultivated gardens from British  influenced Pakistan and thebeauty of natural wilderness from her early summers in the Himalayas.

Cynthia studied ceramics, drawing, sewing & tailoring during her high-school summers. She won an award for being the "Most Artistic Senior" in her graduating class.     

Returning to college in her early thirties, Cynthia majored in fine arts (drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, printmaking, figure drawing) at Sierra Junior College (Rocklin, CA) and worked in their graphic design department.    

Fortunate to complete her formal graphic design training at California College of Arts and Crafts in their prestigious program, she studied under some of the Bay Area's most influential designers: Michael Cronan, Michael Mabry, Michael Manwaring and Michael Vanderbyl.

Cynthia's Traits: Appreciates beauty in all forms; loves people & language; humor, word-play & nuance; is interested in communication & function, likes research and analysis, is observant, considerate, loyal, deliberate, opinionated, independent, likes teamwork & teaching.
